what the Healthcare? the short version)

In case you weren't paying attention for the better part of 2008 a Presidential Election was held in the United States. The incumbent party at the time known as " The G.O.P." was coming off of eight years in the office. The man who held that office was no longer looked upon favorably. Some would argue, he hadn't been looked upon favorably in quite some time. The opposing party had a fresh, young candidate. He championed the "yes we can" movement.
America was coming off eight very difficult years. Financially, we were stricken as much as we had been in years. We were in the seventh year of one war and the fifth of another, with no end in sight for either. We needed something different. Change we could believe in. I think I had heard that.
The fresh young candidate was a junior Senator from Illinois. He spoke time and time again while campaigning of change. He spoke of healthcare reform. He spoke about healthcare reform so much, I don't even remember much else he spoke of. In 2008 the 24 hour news cycle was up and running. He was played giving speeches to crowds of hundreds and thousands over and over. At the same time many of these speeches were broadcast on radio and television to millions of listeners.
The GOP candidate was a very good man, a Veteran (and prisoner) of Foreign War and long standing Senator, but he was fighting and uphill battle. The previous administration probably left him in an un-winnable situation.
After many months and many millions of dollar spent campaigning. After years of seeing our deficit rise, our freedoms diminish, our savings and retirement disappear, our youth still going off to war. WE WERE ALL SO VERY ANGRY. The time had come, we weren't going to take it anymore. WE, AS ONE NATION, INDIVISIBLE, UNITED went out in droves and voted. Some people voted for the American War hero, about 60 million. The young Democrat who spoke constantly of getting Healthcare to every American had nearly 70 millions votes. AND SINCE ROUGHLY 220 MILLION AMERICANS ARE ELIGLE TO VOTE, the winner of the 2008 presidential election, perhaps the most crucial in our life time; with nearly 90 million votes, ladies and gentlemen THE SILENT MAJORITY Nobody. Yes, you saw that right Nobody won. The popular choice in 2008 as in most years was to not choose.
Which brings us to March 21, 2010 near midnight. The young senator was now President, since Nobody can't be President. Barack Obama was and he didn't look young anymore,. The House passed a bill for universal healthcare in America, not the exact one B.O. had hoped for. On Tuesday that week Obama signed the bill which he spoke about many times. For many months before and for many months after the opposition had and will have a voice. They had their chance to stop it. 60 million in fact went to the local voting hall and said we don't want this guy or his healthcare. However, 90 million or so people were either indifferent or too lazy to have their say in the matter. In November the people get to speak again, and again some of the outraged, the tread upon who damn the government will stay home and be choose to be mute again when given the rare opportunity to have their voice be heard.
